Background

  • Graduated from the University of Hawaii with a degree in Community Based Healthcare and a certificate in Peace Studies. My studies have included explorations of ethnobotany, psychoactive drug plants, mycology, traditional Hawaiian medicine, public health, and mediation.
  • Completed an OHA and HECC approved facilitator training course with Changa Institute.
  • 11+ years of experience with psychedelics and entheogens. In both group and individual settings I have facilitated for others, and had others facilitate for me. Being on both sides of psychedelic processes has been instructive and insightful.
  • I am mestizo with Mexican roots and honor the indigenous history and usage of these offerings from nature. To honor the ways of indigenous communities I strive to weave the lessons of psychedelics into the rhythms of daily life by emphasizing integration in my practice.
  • Mushrooms can act as a catalyst to uncover forgotten wisdom and connect to the innate ability to heal oneself. I am there to support you on your journey home to yourself.
  • I am a mother who will bring thoughtful and nurturing care to your journey. I give consideration to many aspects of safety (physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual) to support your overall wellbeing.
  • I warmly embrace people from all walks of life, welcoming all into a space of acceptance.
  • Outside of work I enjoy foraging in nature with my family, practicing fiber arts, fermenting foods and beverages, and practicing breath-work.

Code of Ethics

1. Respect

I commit to treating all clients with respect and dignity regardless of their race, gender, age, culture, sexual orientation, religion, or socioeconomic background. I honor and respect the vulnerable state the client is in, and will protect them to the best of my ability.

2. Safety

Safety will be of first priority throughout the preparation, dosing, and integration sessions. Considerations include physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual safety. I will work with the client during preparation sessions to discuss how we can collectively reduce risks.

3. Confidentiality

I highly respect a patient’s right to privacy. I honor privacy and confidentiality during all sessions. The session will remain confidential unless the law mandates information to be released. I am transparent and will share when that would become a necessity beforehand.

4. Informed Consent

The potential risks and benefits of psilocybin sessions will be thoroughly explored. Informed consent is required before initiating a facilitated journey.

5. Finances

I will make all financial obligations blatantly clear to the client before any session begins. I am glad to discuss financial support that may be available.

6. Boundaries

We establish boundaries in the preparation phase to set a professional tone. I honor these boundaries through all sessions. These boundaries will be honored even if the client’s stance changes after consuming the product. This is to protect the vulnerable nature of the client.

7. Touch

I respect boundaries surrounding touch without compromise. All touch will be respectful and non sexual in manner. I will only engage in touch with clear consent. I use touch for gently reassuring a client or for keeping the body safe while navigating movement.

8. Non-Directive Approach

I commit to a supportive facilitation role that always returns to the inner wisdom of the client. I will not give advice or guidance on life matters of the client. Instead, I will invite them to take the opportunity to find the answers within themselves. I will not offer my interpretations of events. Instead, I offer compassionate inquiry so they may interpret the meaning of the experience themselves.

9. Cultural Sensitivity

I will strive to be culturally sensitive so that groups from diverse backgrounds may feel welcome and relaxed during all sessions with me as a facilitator. I will actively work to examine my behaviors, question my implicit biases and prejudices, and process these findings to take action and be a more accepting person who embraces all.

10. Accountability

I will remain open to feedback, and will graciously accept constructive criticism from others who may bring to my attention how I could be more sensitive to an issue or supportive for a specific need they may have. I will seek to improve upon what is brought up to me to the best of my ability.

11. Commitment to Growth

I will continue my learning beyond the months of formal training to stay up-to-date on evolving practices and information. I will commit to improvement where it is possible so that the client may receive exceptional care.

12. Scope of Care

I acknowledge when continued care that is beyond my scope as a facilitator is needed. Resources will be provided that are reliable for a variety of modalities. I am conscious of culturally appropriate care and am mindful with what I offer.
